First let me express my sincere gratitude for your interest in my full service law firm and for visiting our website.  When viewing our website please keep in mind all feedback is greatly appreciated.   

 

I have now been officially separated from the military for 10 months, and my firm is actively engaged in civil and criminal litigation.  Please see below for our Law Letter and current areas of the law where we are accepting clients. 

 

As always I will strive to give you unsurpassed legal representation in whatever capacity I serve or advise you in!  If I cannot take your case for any reason I will refer you to somebody who can.  I look forward to serving all your individual and business legal needs in the future. Overall things are going great but of course I am never too busy for any referrals you may have.

Business and Corporate Law:

•  The firm was able to settle a case for a business client in an extremely favorable manner.  The business client was being sued for over $60,000.00 dollars in damages but with my firm’s aggressive litigation strategy, and counterclaim, we were able to convince the other side to not pursue our client for any damages.  On top of relieving our client from all alleged liability, we were able to have equipment (valued at over $10,000.00) transferred to our client at no cost! 

 

Personal Injury Law:

•  Our aggressive litigation strategy in our representation of a personal injury client has allowed us to settle a case for one of our client’s for maximum liability. 

 

Sports Agent Business:

•  I will attend the NFLPA agent seminar in August.

 

Sports and Entertainment Law:

•  A former Texas A&M football player has retained me as a private attorney and advisor to assist him in his endeavor to play professional football. More to come...

 

•  I made a business trip to California and had several productive business meetings on selling my screenwriter client’s script. More to come...

•  My firm is actively representing our criminal defendant clients to ensure justice is done.

PAST ANNOUNCEMENTS:

  • My law office assisted a client in obtaining a seventy five thousand dollar ($75,000.00) settlement in a premises liability case! 

    •  

    Business and Corporate Law:

    • The firm was able to serve one of my longstanding business clients by providing legal advice on trademark and copyright law.  We also served this business by preparing and filing a trademark application at the United States Patent and Trademark office. 
    • The firm has been hired as general counsel for Hoskins & Associates LLC, a lobbying firm located in Austin, Texas.

     

    Criminal Defense:

    • My firm was contacted by an individual who was falsely accused of stealing from his employer.  We have already begun our representation of our client to ensure justice is done!

     

    Employment Discrimination Law:

    • My firm has been retained by an individual to pursue a claim of employment discrimination against a major corporation!  We are in the process of ensuring our client receives fair treatment required under the law.  We will not stop working until we secure appropriate justice and hopefully ensure this corporation stops their process of discriminating on the basis of skin color!

     

    Family Law:

    • Just a few days following the revising of my firm’s family law webpage, we signed up two new family law clients and will start representation to serve their legal needs immediately.  We will work to ensure our clients and their families are treated properly by the family courts.

    Insurance Law:

    • The firm recently signed up a client to assist with another “bad faith” insurance claim on a life insurance policy that was improperly denied!  It is truly a blessing to be able to assist individuals who properly pay for coverage but are then wrongly denied coverage at the moment they need it most!

     

    Announcements in other areas of the law:

     

    • The law office has stayed busy drafting wills and powers of attorneys for individual clients.

     

    • The law office has begun working with military recruiters and advising several new clients on the process to change their reenlistment code in order to regain entry into the military. 

     

    • My business clients are keeping me busy as I have provided legal advice to clients on how to limit liability of their business and assisted various businesses with debt collection and various other business law matters.   

     

     

    • The Talent Agent Services division of the Law Office of Mitchell J. Howie has opened and signed a talented young screenwriter who recently won the prestigious Platinum Remi Award for "BEST original comedy screenplay" at the Worldfest-Houston International Film Festival.  All inquiries to read this award winning script should be sent to info@mitchellhowie.com. 

     

     

    • Sports Agent Services Division of the Law Office of Mitchell J. Howie is now open and accepting clients! 

     

    Notable Pro Bono Clients:

    In addition to the new and existing clients who have hired my firm on retainer, and/or on a contingency basis, we have been able to donate our time to great causes on a pro bono basis in the spirit of the holidays to include the following:

     

    • The firm worked with the local chapter of the NAACP and advised an individual concerning a civil rights claim against a racist landlord!  We provided legal advice on landlord tenant law preventing the pro-bono client from being sued for potentially over $5,000.00 dollars due to an unethical landlord’s practice! 

     

    • The firm provided legal representation to a woman whose uncle was being discharged from a veteran’s home for what she perceived as improper reasons.  In providing legal counsel to the pro bono client, the firm saved the woman potentially over $4,000.00 dollars in legal fees by stopping her from pursuing a guardianship for her uncle who was not a legally proper candidate for guardianship.
